Oral Language and Listening Comprehension

The oral discourses has inherent intricacies, regarding to heterogeneous teaching and learning realities of our classes when talking about reception and production of speech.

Listening is the receptive aspect of oral language, Speaking is the productive skill.

There is an asymmetric relationship between them, listening requires learners to resort their knowledge whereas the use of spoken languages implies interaction of learners to perform in the target language.

Oral Language focuses on communicating or receiving content, rather than accuracy.  Brevity of chunks, pronunciation and dialectical variation are keys.

STUDENTS NEGOCIATES MEANING, use communication strategies, and avoid communication breakdowns.

Real life listening faces us to deal with colloquial expressions, short chunks, pronunciation styles, and NON REPETITION of the messages most of the times.
